The overall aim of this course is to develop your skills and confidence performing and interpreting spirometry.
On completion you will be able to:
- Understand the clinical application of spirometry and the key measurements obtained
- Identify what equipment & environmental conditions are needed to safely perform spirometry and understand the need for equipment quality control
- Perform spirometry tests on patients/clients and identify common errors and their effect on clinical outcome
- Report and interpret spirometry using appropriate reference data
The assessments of this course are:
- Short assessments during the workshop
- Portfolio submission - evidence of workplace spirometry and quality control.

Who is this for: Clinical Staff who are being supported to undertake spirometry testing within their workplace and submit the required portfolio to achieve spirometry certification.
Pre-requisite: Pre-requisite: Attendance at either the Spirometry Foundation Workshop (RGCT017) or the Spirometry Update Workshop (RGCT020).
