Kia ora! The overall aim of this course is to support health professionals to develop the necessary knowledge and clinical skills to administer anti-cancer drugs and safely handle hazardous drugs and related waste for adult patients. ADAC provides standardised education for the safe administration of anti-cancer drugs and safely handle hazardous drugs and or related waste The course consists of online learning and assessment and may be supported by a clinical skills workshop to consolidate theory to practice. The course is completed with a competency sign off by a certified senior designated person in your area.  

This module provides an overview of the characteristics of hazardous drugs and principles of risk management in the workplace, including the safe handling of hazardous drugs and related waste, and the management of risk and exposure in the workplace. 

On completion you will be able to describe:

  • an overview of the characteristics of hazardous drugs and principles of risk management in the workplace,
